Are Talent Shows Overrated these days????

I guess it's the season of reality TV shows such as American Idol, The Voice & X-Factor. I really do enjoy watching international singing shows compared to local ones. They are so talented & when watching local ones, the more talented singers get the boot too early in the competition & the lame ones with no talents are still hanging. It's more of popularity compared to real talent so i switch to international shows which actually showcases real talent with great big voices.

The Voice has 4 really talented judges such as Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera & Blake Shelton. What's interesting with this show is that it's different with Blind Auditions going on. What it means is that the judges are not able to see how the singer looks like but what they hear & the potential they see in these singers. While X-Factor will only be aired after July, American Idol is finishing it's run in 2 weeks.

To be honest i kind of missed local talent shows such as Malaysian Idol & One In A Million where they really showcase REAL DEAL singers. Someone who can actually sing & have that X-Factor going on based on personality & singing.
