This year's US OPEN Tennis so far for the first week has been TREMENDOUS as the great players of tennis are still on the run. Former Grand Slams Champions are BACK for war with each other to capture their very last grand slam of the year. The early favourites for men comes in the shape of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It has been a very long long journey for these 2 rivals as either one of them will win the US Open tournament this year. If Nadal wins it will be his 1st ever US Open title and it will be his first time ever completing all the grand slam titles. As for Federer it will be history for him to make with one of the 5 leading men with most grand slam titles.
Rafael Nadal
Roger Federer
The ladies this time around sadly has NO Serena Williams as she is the best women player up to date but this has not given hope for other great players such as Kim Clijsters & Maria Sharapova to grab the title. Clijsters is on a 17 matches winning streak for the US Open being retired at the time she won her first ever grand slam title in 2005 and coming back in 2009 to win it again. This might be an opportunity for her to grab her 3rd grand slam title in a row in the US Open. As for Sharapova it will be her 4th ever grand slam title if she wins it. She has made a remarkable comeback in tennis. Due to her injuries, her rankings has dropped and found herself crawling back to the TOP 10.

Maria Sharapova
Other players to watch are Andy Murray with his ever improving game that made him beat Federer & Nadal in the US Open Series. Ana Ivanovic has made a stable & confident comeback to tennis reaching the 4th round facing Clijsters. Andy Roddick is seen stumbling these past few months. Caroline Wozniacki comes in as the top seed & also the underdog in this tournament and last but not least Venus Williams who is still in the run to capture her long awaited grand slam title of the year.

With the best players in the running in US Open, anything can happen & anybody could win the title as many are battling it out to grab the very last ever Grand Slam title of the year and to fight for the No 1 Ranking by the end of the year.
